Ingredients
  

  • 1 shot of espresso or 1/2 cup strong brewed coffee
  • 1 cup coconut milk canned or carton, unsweetened
  • 1-2 teaspoons sugar or sweetener of choice optional
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch of ground cinnamon optional
  • 1 tablespoon coconut cream optional, for extra creaminess

Instructions
 

Brew the Coffee:

  • Brew a shot of espresso using an espresso machine, or brew 1/2 cup of strong coffee using a coffee maker.

Heat the Coconut Milk:

  • In a small saucepan, heat the coconut milk over medium heat until warm, but not boiling. Alternatively, you can heat the coconut milk using a milk frother.

Froth the Milk:

  • If you have a milk frother, froth the heated coconut milk until it becomes frothy. If you don't have a frother, you can whisk the warm coconut milk vigorously until it becomes frothy.

Combine Coffee and Milk:

  • Pour the brewed espresso or strong coffee into a mug. Add the heated coconut milk to the coffee, holding back the frothy part with a spoon. Once the milk is added, top with the frothy milk.

Sweeten and Flavor:

  • Stir in the sugar or sweetener of your choice, if desired. Add the vanilla extract for added flavor. If you like, add a dollop of coconut cream for extra richness.

Garnish and Serve:

  • Sprinkle a pinch of ground cinnamon on top for garnish, if desired. Serve the coconut latte hot and enjoy!
